Light’s post highlighted the harsh remarks Gomez received at the SAG Awards in both 2024 and 2025. “Selena was mocked last year at the SAG Awards for putting on weight, told to go on Ozempic. At this year’s SAG Awards, she’s slammed for losing weight, mocked for allegedly being on Ozempic,” the post read.

The message emphasized how society’s unrealistic beauty standards target women, whether they gain or lose weight. “Our bodies are ours, not up for public discussion,” Light added.
Taylor Lautner, who has been vocal about his own struggles with body image after the Twilight saga, echoed the sentiment in his own words for Selena Gomez. “It’s a cruel world full of hate out there,” he wrote. “You can never please everyone nor should you have to.”
He encouraged people to focus on what truly matters, saying, “It doesn’t make the words sting less, but it refocuses you onto what’s important — and that’s not the shape, color, or appearance of your body.”
Lautner also reminded his followers, “Daily reminder to all of us. Don’t forget how beautiful you are inside and out. …and be a little bit nicer.”
Selena Gomez has been candid about her health journey, which includes a lupus diagnosis in 2015 and a kidney transplant in 2017. The Only Murders in the Building star has faced body-shaming throughout her career, especially after sharing how her health conditions and medication have caused weight fluctuations.
Despite the negativity, Gomez has consistently used her platform to advocate for self-love and body positivity.
